- Start with a fully clean surface. "You might think a good wash is enough, but in order to apply a ceramic coating like Perfect Carbon you also need to remove any waxes, oils left by soaps, lubes, and polishing agents.... so I recommend using a paint prep spray or an IPA (isopropyl alcohol) spray."
